Overview
Many ToolsLab utilities process text, images, and PDF files directly in your browser. Those tools do not need to send the content you enter or select to ToolsLab. A smaller set of features uses a server to provide sharing, redirects, public Web page imports, feedback, or regional defaults. Those features are described below.
Tools That Process Data in Your Browser
The PDF editing, image conversion, text, calculator, and ordinary design workflows are designed to run on your device unless the page tells you otherwise. A file picker may call a selected item an “upload,” but for these local workflows the browser reads the file without sending it to our application server. The resulting file is prepared as a browser download.
Your language preference may be stored in your browser's local storage so the site can return you to the language you selected.
Server-Assisted Features
Temporary file QR codes
If you choose temporary file sharing in the QR code generator, the file is sent to our object storage. We also store the display file name, file type, file size, QR identifier, status, timestamps, and a protected management credential. The download expires after 24 hours, and expired file objects are removed by our cleanup process. Do not use this feature as long-term storage or for information you are not comfortable sharing through anyone who has the QR code or link.
Dynamic QR codes and scan statistics
A dynamic QR code stores its destination URL, identifier, status, timestamps, and a protected management credential so that its owner can update or disable the redirect. When a ToolsLab-hosted QR link is scanned, we record the date, approximate country and region, broad device category, and referring site hostname when available. Individual scan events are scheduled for deletion after 30 days; aggregated daily counts may be retained to show QR performance. We do not put a scanner's IP address into the QR scan record.
Public Web page and feed import
When you ask the word cloud tool to import a public Web page or feed, the submitted address is sent to our server so it can retrieve the public content. The import endpoint does not save the submitted address or retrieved text to the application database. It temporarily uses the request's network address to enforce abuse limits.
Regional defaults
Our hosting platform may provide an approximate country code derived from the request network location. Some calculators use that country code to choose a more relevant default, such as holiday presets.
Feedback
If you submit feedback, we store the message, the full page URL, a normalized page path, your network address, and the submission time. We use this information to review reports, understand which tool the report concerns, and prevent abuse. Feedback records remain available for review until they are deleted by an administrator.
Cookies, Local Storage, and Advertising
The public browser tools do not require an account or a ToolsLab authentication cookie. We use local storage for preferences such as your chosen language. When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and request information to deliver, measure, and protect advertising as permitted by your settings and applicable law. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies.
Service Providers and Security
We use hosting, database, and object-storage providers to operate the server-assisted features above. They process information on our behalf to provide the service. We limit accepted temporary file types, protect management credentials, restrict administrative access, and remove expired temporary objects, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
You can use local tools without enabling a server-assisted feature, avoid temporary file sharing, clear the stored language preference in your browser, and use a QR management link to update or disable a dynamic redirect.
